Calendar and Announcements Message from the Wardens Dated August 4, 2010
With the approval of Bishop Roskam, the Wardens and vestry of St. Mary’s Church are pleased to announce that the Rev. Wm. Kevin Fisher has accepted our call as rector. Fr. Kevin, his wife Jane, and family will be with us come the beginning of October. We look forward to the beginning of this new ministry and thank Fr. John Stubbs for his continued love and support during this interim period.
As Herb is on vacation until August 15 and I am away from August 7 – August 22, a formal written announcement will not be sent to the parish until the end of the month. Please feel free to share this good news. If you have any questions regarding any church related issues, please speak with any member of the vestry. Thank you, Herb Smith and Cathy Carlson
Dated July 27, 2010
After much prayer and discussion, the vestry of St. Mary’s Church has elected a candidate for rector. In accordance with the canons, we have presented this candidate to the Diocesan Bishop for final approval. Once we receive approval, the candidate will be advised of the call and will hopefully accept the call.
If the call is accepted the search committees’ responsibilities will be complete. The committee has worked hard during this process. They had over 25 applicants to review. After thorough review of each applicant’s resume and profile nine potential candidates were selected. The Bishop approved seven of the candidates and the interview process began. Three candidates selected were already involved in other search processes and were no longer available for interviews. The committee interviewed the remaining four candidates and positively made a recommendation to the vestry. The vestry interviewed the candidate and concurred with the recommendation of the search committee. Again, after much prayer and discussion, the vestry passed a resolution to call this candidate as the next rector of St. Mary’s church. Thank you, Herb Smith and Cathy Carlson
